## Querying This Documentation
This site has an agentic ask interface you may use to query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://changelog.shopwaive.com/index.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

## Shopwaive API keys and export updates

The Shopwaive Development team has released an update to the Shopwaive app, and there is nothing you need to do. Every checkout block, POS tile, Flow action and Flow trigger you already use stays in place, and requests to the Shopwaive API need no change. Developers can now create and revoke their own API keys under <mark style="color:blue;">**Settings**</mark> > <mark style="color:blue;">**Develop**</mark> > <mark style="color:blue;">**Shopwaive API keys**</mark>. <mark style="color:blue;">**Export all balances**</mark> now returns every account, including on very large stores, and <mark style="color:blue;">**Export all transactions**</mark> gives every row the same columns. ## Send customer payloads to Shopify Flow

The Shopwaive Development team has released a powerful new advanced tool for customer profiles. Customer service teams, brand developers, and web development teams can use Shopwaive's new **Send HTTP POST payload** tool on any customer profile page from within the Shopwaive app. Just setup an automation in Shopify Flow, and then trigger it from the customer's profile page.

Create payloads and payload templates using any of the variables defined by the HTTP POST trigger

<figure><img src="https://311582772-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FPSixuUh0CkVLkmb9bg0I%2Fuploads%2F78m6ot41BBKmR43E6GSC%2FHTTPPOST_variables.png?alt=media&amp;token=ec9141e5-1acd-441a-8eb0-8db748b4151d" alt=""><figcaption><p>For your customer payload, choose to include any of the variables available from the HTTP POST schema</p></figcaption></figure>

In this example, you can send a gift code by email to the customer if you use Shopwaive's <mark style="color:blue;">**Create gift code**</mark> action after Shopwaive's <mark style="color:blue;">**HTTP POST**</mark> trigger. In the <mark style="color:blue;">**Create gift code**</mark> action, you can display the customer's gift code in the email body using `{giftcardcode}`. You can use HTML markup to style the gift code, for example use the following to display the code in bold by copy and pasting it into the **Email Body message** field inside the <mark style="color:blue;">**Create gift code**</mark> action

```
Congrats! Here is your gift code
<span style='font-weight:bold'>{giftcardcode}</span>
```

Choose from any of Shopwaive's <mark style="color:blue;">**HTTP POST**</mark> trigger fields and data types listed below to send in the payload. Choose fields that match your required data type needed in the Shopify Flow environment. `string`, `decimal`, and `boolean` data types are supported. For example, you may choose to use the generic <mark style="color:blue;">**`enabled`**</mark> key to send a type `boolean` to Shopify Flow for downstream processing of your logic. While the values of each key can be any you choose, the schema is strictly enforced and use of only the keys in the payload object below will result in successful delivery to your Shopify Flow environment.

# Send HTTP requests, receive responses in Shopify Flow

November 28, 2025

The Shopwaive Development team has released a powerful new advanced tool for Flow automations. Teams can now use Shopwaive's new <mark style="color:blue;">**Send HTTP Request**</mark> action to send HTTP requests and receive response payloads with variables that may be used downstream in your Flow. You can make external requests to your endpoints or other 3rd parties, receive a response payload, and define a schema that extracts variables from the response that you can use elsewhere in downstream actions inside. [Learn more](https://docs.shopwaive.com/shopify/shopify-flow#send-http-requests)

{% endhint %}

### Send HTTP requests and receive response payloads all within the Flow environment

Follow the tutorial below to learn how to Send HTTP Requests within Shopify Flow and receive a JSON stringified response as variables you can use in downstream actions and conditional blocks.

<figure><img src="https://docs.shopwaive.com/~gitbook/image?url=https%3A%2F%2F1743155819-files.gitbook.io%2F%7E%2Ffiles%2Fv0%2Fb%2Fgitbook-x-prod.appspot.com%2Fo%2Fspaces%252F6HSAZj4RDucpQwVtzMYt%252Fuploads%252FALpcKHuf4y7HK01fYZ9O%252FSendHTTPRequest.png%3Falt%3Dmedia%26token%3D4ed018e9-f3b0-43cd-829d-2b457c16b851&#x26;width=768&#x26;dpr=4&#x26;quality=100&#x26;sign=7596e39d&#x26;sv=2" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

With Shopwaive's <mark style="color:blue;">**Send HTTP request**</mark> action, you can make external requests to your endpoints or other 3rd parties, receive a response payload, and define a schema that extracts variables from the response that you can use elsewhere in downstream actions inside Flow.

To get started quickly, import an example <mark style="color:blue;">**Send HTTP request**</mark> Flow [here](https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0651/7650/2517/files/Send_HTTP_Request.flow?v=1764359742).

Step 1: Choose any trigger that starts the Flow. In our example, we choose <mark style="color:blue;">**Order created**</mark>

Step 2: Add the <mark style="color:blue;">**Send HTTP request**</mark> action in your Flow, add your payload and header to the request

<figure><img src="https://docs.shopwaive.com/~gitbook/image?url=https%3A%2F%2F1743155819-files.gitbook.io%2F%7E%2Ffiles%2Fv0%2Fb%2Fgitbook-x-prod.appspot.com%2Fo%2Fspaces%252F6HSAZj4RDucpQwVtzMYt%252Fuploads%252Fj28yXTFSP07bkwRePoyN%252Fpayload.png%3Falt%3Dmedia%26token%3D9f6ef293-a631-475b-ac53-26bf3b26ccb7&#x26;width=768&#x26;dpr=4&#x26;quality=100&#x26;sign=b1c4ed00&#x26;sv=2" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Step 3: Connect the <mark style="color:blue;">**Send HTTP request**</mark> action to the <mark style="color:blue;">**Run code**</mark> action

Step 4: Use the [example Flow provided above](https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0651/7650/2517/files/Send_HTTP_Request.flow?v=1764359742) as a reference to fill out the **Run code** action to properly extract data from the payload received. Responses from the <mark style="color:blue;">**Send HTTP request**</mark> action are returned as stringified JSON, so you'll need to use JSON.parse() within the <mark style="color:blue;">**Run code**</mark> action inside the **Write code** block to parse your data into variable schema format. In the example below, we are defining an object schema with arbirtrarily defined fields **`id`**, **`example`**, and **`email`**, but you can define your own. Ensure you use the Define outputs block to correctly define the schema field types.

# Generative AI — Shopwaive Code

December 1, 2025

Shopify Plus Dev teams can now connect directly to their GitHub repos to commit to a new or existing branch for code PRs developed with <mark style="color:blue;">**Shopwaive Code**</mark> — from the Built for Shopify admin Shopwaive app. Upload your files and ask Shopwaive to help you troubleshoot errors and complete code review. Need to refactor your PHP codebase to Javascript, format from HTML to React JSX, update your package.json to the latest node engine? No problem. Develop new features, functions, and more with <mark style="color:blue;">**Shopwaive Code**</mark>.

{% hint style="info" %}
Need support for Shopify Plus integration? Reach out to our team at <support@shopwaive.com> and we'll be glad to support or consider new feature or available options with this release upon request.
{% endhint %}

### Connect GitHub

First, ensure you've signed up for the **Shopwaive Checkout** subscription plan, as this is required to use Shopwaive Code.

{% hint style="info" %}
Need to upgrade to the **Shopwaive Checkout** subscription plan? In the left side menu of the Shopwaive app within the Shopify admin, open **View more** > **Billing**. Below the billing table, click **Change subscription** (or **View all available subscription plans**, if that is the link you see). On the **Checkout plan** card, click **$60 per month plus usage**, then approve the plan on the Shopify page that opens in a new tab
{% endhint %}

Once you're signed up to the **Shopwaive Checkout** plan, from the Shopwaive app, visit the **Generative AI** menu, click the **Code** tab, and then click the **Install** button in the GitHub card.

<figure><img src="https://311582772-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FPSixuUh0CkVLkmb9bg0I%2Fuploads%2FTkRx24sCAslfO4keDBcy%2FInstallGitHub.png?alt=media&amp;token=41a21a89-3b18-4a24-9833-ee862aef76da" alt=""><figcaption><p>Click the Install button to begin an OAuth session with GitHub where you'll select your repos</p></figcaption></figure>

During the GitHub OAuth session that begins, you'll choose which repo(s) you wish to connect to Shopwaive. Before installing, and for the most seamless installation, ensure you've already logged into your GitHub account in the same browser session that you've launched Shopify.

{% hint style="info" %}
Though during installation you'll choose your repo(s) to connect, at anytime, you can visit the Shopwaive Code app in GitHub that you install on your GitHub account to add or remove repo(s)
{% endhint %}

Once you've successfully installed Shopwaive Code on your GitHub account, refresh your Shopify session and the GitHub card will update within the Shopwaive app indicating that your repo(s) have been successfully connected.

<figure><img src="https://311582772-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FPSixuUh0CkVLkmb9bg0I%2Fuploads%2FkvLlTTjRhlNh4F1v23sJ%2FShopwaiveCode.png?alt=media&amp;token=954fc181-de44-4e2a-99a8-0cb6b13e8109" alt=""><figcaption><p>The GitHub card will indicate your repo(s) are connected once you complete OAuth</p></figcaption></figure>

Next, you'll get to create code and commit directly to your repo(s). Ask Shopwaive's AI to generate a snippet, a landing page, an integration with Stripe and much more. You can upload files from your code base that you want Shopwaive's AI to debug or help run more efficiently, or refactor into a new language.

<figure><img src="https://311582772-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FPSixuUh0CkVLkmb9bg0I%2Fuploads%2FFGCh5XYiw7suH8PDTiMP%2FShopwaiveCodeGenerativeAI.png?alt=media&amp;token=97caf773-0162-4894-8c8b-94c9cf1e4c32" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

For example, provide a plain HTML and JS file and ask the AI to refactor into Liquid for your Shopify store. Or provide your Node.js package.json file and ask the AI to update your dependencies. The possibilities are endless.

# Shopwaive API keys and export updates

October 4, 2026

The Shopwaive Development team has released an update to the Shopwaive app. There is nothing you need to do: every checkout block, POS tile, Flow action and Flow trigger you already use stays in place, there is no new permission to approve, and requests to the Shopwaive API need no change.

{% hint style="info" %}
Questions about this update? Reach out to our team at <support@shopwaive.com>
{% endhint %}

### Shopwaive API keys

Create a key for each developer or integration. Each key can be revoked on its own, without affecting the others.

1. In the Shopwaive app, open <mark style="color:blue;">**Settings**</mark> > <mark style="color:blue;">**Develop**</mark> > <mark style="color:blue;">**Shopwaive API keys**</mark>
2. Type a label, for example `ERP sync`, and click <mark style="color:blue;">**Create key**</mark>
3. Copy the key. It is shown only once

Send the key in the `X-Shopwaive-Access-Token` header, the same header the API has always used. An integration that already sends an access token in that header keeps working, with no change. Use a key for new integrations. [Learn more](https://api.shopwaive.com/quick-start)

### Exports

Both exports are under <mark style="color:blue;">**Customers**</mark> > <mark style="color:blue;">**More actions**</mark>. [Learn more](https://docs.shopwaive.com/shopify/accounts/export-accounts)

* <mark style="color:blue;">**Export all balances**</mark> now returns every account, including on very large stores
* <mark style="color:blue;">**Export all transactions**</mark> now gives every row the same columns in the same order. A column that does not apply to a row is blank
* The transactions file ends with a new `Figures` column. It says where a row's balances come from: `recorded`, `reconstructed`, `derived` or `not recorded`
* An account that holds a balance but has no history is exported as one **Opening balance** row
* Stores with B2B Checkout on also get `Placed By` and `Funded By` after `Email`

### Balance imports

In <mark style="color:blue;">**Customers**</mark> > <mark style="color:blue;">**Import**</mark>, an `Expiry` written as `YYYY-MM-DD` is read as the start of that day in your local time. An `Expiry` that is today or earlier is refused, and nothing is imported until it is corrected. [Learn more](https://docs.shopwaive.com/shopify/accounts/import-accounts)

### Shopify Flow

When Shopify refuses to create the discount or the gift card, the <mark style="color:blue;">**Create discount**</mark> or <mark style="color:blue;">**Create gift code**</mark> step now fails in Flow and shows the reason. The steps after it do not run.

### Shopify POS and gift cards

* The POS tiles now follow the cart's customer. When you change the customer, the tile shows the new customer's balance
* Gift codes no longer need a custom app or a pasted token. The **Gift Cards Access Token** card has been removed from Settings

### For developers

* Merchant-configured webhooks have been retired, and the **Webhooks** section is no longer shown in Settings. To act on a balance change, use the Shopify Flow triggers <mark style="color:blue;">**Balance change**</mark> and <mark style="color:blue;">**Balance changes from order**</mark>
